The Dream |
| |
Today the medicine is moving in
two directions: |
| |
| |
Academic group discussions |
| |
1. |
Technology
based modern medicine: Here human being is understood,
analyzed and treated as machine - mechanistic view. |
| |
| 2. |
Holistic
Medicine: Human beings are regarded as a part of nature.
Understanding and treatment is in tune with nature. |
| |
Certain
inherent deficiencies as well as the cost involved in
the first approach have led to the search of holistic
approach the World over. |
Realising this, a group of young
doctors, scientists and sympathisus had a dream - "To
formulate a system of Integrated Medical Care leading to
cost effective way of healthcare for urban as well as
rural population." |
Association for Research in
Homoeopathy (ARH) was established in 1986 to make this
dream a reality. |
The Need |
| |
It was necessary to lay down
scientific foundation for such a system. It specifically
involves the following: |
| |
| |
Prof. G. L.
Abhyankar, Ex. Pro-Vice Chancellor, Bombay
University - making a point at a seminar. |
| |
| 1. |
To establish
Homoeopathic therapy on scientific norms and place it on
the mainstream of medicine. |
| |
| 2. |
To integrate
concepts of Ayurveda, Yoga and Modern Medicine in
prevention and treatment of diseases. |
| |
| 3. |
To undertake
research to prove validity of such approach. |
| |
| 4. |
To spread it
for benefits to urban as well as rural population. |
| |
Today, after
diligent work over the last 18 years, ARH has made it
operational - The concept of Integrated Medical Care. |
